Phil and Mary Bosch have completed their home on Indian Pipe Circle and are applying for Membership in CPA. They are sponsored by Bill and Mary Ford and Martha Laughna. There will be a 45-day comment period during which CPA members can make comments to Board members. The Board will vote on membership thereafter.

They have provided the following information:

The Bosch Family is thrilled to apply for membership to the Castle Park Association! Phil has fond memories of childhood summers at his grandfather’s, (Randall C. Bosch) Castle Park cottage. Phil’s family has deep roots in Western Michigan. Phil’s great-grandfather, Nicodemus Bosch, was mayor of Holland and owned the Western Machine Tool Works. Phil’s grandfather took over the business and bought the cottage in 1946. Phil’s father (Randall B. Bosch) spent summers at Castle Park and met Phil’s mom while she was working there as a Pixie. As a Hope College student, (third generation) Phil was able to spend time year round visiting and exploring the Park. After his grandfather’s death, the cottage was sold to the Littlejohns in 1977.
Phil first brought his family to Castle Park in 1993 for his Aunt and Uncle’s 50th anniversary at Point West. His wife Mary was enchanted; everyone was so friendly, and she loved the great tennis on clay courts. Phil and Mary have subsequently rented either the Pennington or George cottage every summer for the past 27 years. As their family is growing (First grandchild this year!!) they decided it was time to build a cottage to accommodate future generations.
Phil is a Urologist on staff at the University of California San Diego Medical Center. He specializes in and does research on Interstitial Cystitis, a bladder disorder. He teaches medical students and residents, chairs meetings on bladder diseases, and sees patients in clinic. He looks forward to the quiet of his new cottage to write and publish his research articles. Phil finds time for his passions of tennis and golf.
Mary is a “Valley girl” born in Los Angeles. Her best friend growing up was Phil’s cousin who set them up on a blind date. The rest is history. She was working on her Master’s in Education at the University of California Irvine at the same time Phil was in residency there. She was a first grade teacher in the bilingual education program until she and Phil moved to San Diego. There she ran Phil’s new medical practice until they started their family. As an empty nester she is in charge again.  Mary loves her daily tennis and social life with her friends.
Kathryn, 31, is their oldest child. She attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She worked in San Francisco for Google and has been at Facebook for the last several years. She married Adam Rupp in 2015. Adam is a project manager for a commercial construction firm. Their first child, Grayson Atkin Rupp, was born May 23, 2020. Phil and Mary are thrilled to be grandparents!
David, 28, attended Tuft University in Boston both for his undergraduate and graduate education. He is now in his third year of medical school at the University of South Florida. He presently is doing internal medicine at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Christina, 26, attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas and received her Master’s degree from the University of San Francisco. After working in the city for the past several years, she recently relocated to San Diego. She is now working for GoSite, a startup tech company.
Thank you for this opportunity to apply for Castle Park membership. We would love to be part of the unique and very special Castle Park Family.
