Spring’s Sprung, Hallelujah!

On behalf of your Board, Happy Springtime to all! And with the advent of spring, we can start to anticipate our 2023 summer season. I look forward to seeing you in the Park early and often.

On arrival, if you’re in the neighborhood during April or May, you might see scaffolding along the Castle parapet. That’s because our contractors, DC Byers, just started work on some necessary repairs. The work area is roped off for safety and other reasons; please stay well away and if you have questions, contact Rae, who is our liaison with the contractor.

Also—and this is REALLY important—be advised that major construction, remodeling projects and tree trimming or other noisy landscaping work must stop from June 16 through Labor Day. You can find the full language of the Rule in the Castle Park Rules and Regulations, but the prohibition applies to all projects, inside or outside, that require more than a couple of minutes of hammering, power-sawing or the like. The purpose of the requirement is to be considerate of neighbors, and I know we all want to be that. I’m just reminding all of us now, as we had a few glitches last year; and please remind your contractors as well.

Finally, a note of thanks and kudos for their persistence, to the Whitbecks who’ve advised me that they now have the necessary approvals for repair of the “Audubon Wall” on their property, that suffered damage over the winter of 2021-22. Bill will keep us apprised of timing for the repair, but in the meantime, we’re very grateful!

Enjoy the remainder of spring, and safe travels to Castle Park!
